I'd like to talk about our animal companions for a minute…⁣

Those with animal companions face discrimination in an already ruthless housing/rental market. This is exponentially more true for BIPOC and LGBTQ2S who have animals as part of their family! Not to mention, if your companion happens to be a certain breed you may find no place at all to rent in many areas.

I remember not too long ago having my place of living under threat. I barely found any options that would allow my dog, “Luna”.

I was facing potential pet fees of up to $200 per month + pet deposit with only a hand-full of rental options in a city of 1,000,000 people.⁣

Those of us who love our animals know that they are much more than "pets". For many of us, our animals help us cope with physical and psychiatric illness. What our animals do for us is often beyond words. Nobody should be forced to live without their animal or pay exorbitant fees to live and travel. Most of our animals never cause a bit of damage to property and if they do, additional fees are charged accordingly by landlords and property owners in addition to the mentioned pet fees.⁣

For these reasons and more, I have begun writing Emotional Support Animal and Psychiatric Service Animal letters for those who qualify and are facing this issue. If you have an animal companion and suffer from any of the following, please certify your companion now! Save yourself a lot of money and stress and avoid housing/travel discrimination.⁣
